Cancellations & Missed Lessons
Please be aware that your tuition is what pays the teacher's salary, and the teacher must be paid whether you are here or not. We have children of our own, and are fully aware of all of the other activities that you are involved in. With that in mind, here are the cancellation policies:
There is no lesson make-ups allowed if you cancel a lesson. You may schedule a missed lesson at another convenient time at our regular lesson rate of $23.00 per 30 minutes.
THERE ARE NO CREDITS OR REFUNDS FOR UNUSED LESSONS!
If you are sick and contagious, we would appreciate you not coming to your lesson. Our instructors work in very close quarters with their students and they don't get paid for sick days. Please take this into consideration when coming to class while ill.
Substitute Instructors
Occasionally, an instructor will be unable to teach due to illness, travel, etc. In order to keep the learning process consistent, we typically supply a substitute instructor just as you would find in a public school. The substitute will review with you your assignments from the previous week and teach you the next step in your progression. They may add something unique that you may not hear from your regular instructor so take advantage of it. They will give you a new assignment for you to work on during the next week. In the unusual event that no other teacher is available, a credit will be given to the student account.
If your regular teacher is absent, and you choose not to have the lesson with the substitute, then that is your choice, but NO makeup lesson will be granted. Due to our full schedule, lesson times will not be extended for students arriving late.
We understand that there are times you've got to get away. We have a policy in place that will allow you to miss up to two weeks of lessons in a row, but you will be able to keep your same time upon your return, and you will not be billed for lessons during your absence. At least
two weeks prior to your absence, simply stop by the front counter, and fill out the withdrawal form, indicating the dates you will be absent.
A student who drops for the summer with a balance on their account will not be permitted to re-register until their account is paid in full.
The Studio is typically closed for the following public holidays: New Years Day; Memorial Day; July 4th; Labor Day; Thanksgiving and Christmas. You will not be charged for days that the studio is closed.
Lesson Schedules may be modified on such days as Christmas Eve or New Years Eve,all students will be notified of any changes.
We will make an announcement on our website homepage and on our voicemail when we are closed due to inclement weather. We DO NOT follow the public school district's closure schedule. We do have many instructors who live close by and can make it in easily to teach. If Lessons are not canceled there will me no make-up oppurtunities. If South Jersey Music cancels lessons for inclement weather, students will have the option for a Make Up Lesson or Lesson Credit.
